New Delhi: The MUDA scam clearly exposes Siddaramaiah’s misuse of power, and in light of the High Court’s ruling, he should immediately resign from the position of Chief Minister, urged Union Minister Pralhad Joshi.

Speaking to the media in New Delhi today, Joshi criticized Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, saying his corruption has been revealed, and continuing to cling to the CM’s chair is shameful.

“Siddaramaiah not only exerted undue influence but also misused the power of the CM’s position, crushing the dreams and aspirations of common people. The court’s verdict has made this evident,” Joshi stated.

Joshi further condemned Siddaramaiah, saying, “The CM, who is supposed to protect the common people, is instead deceiving the backward and poor. This is truly unacceptable.”

He questioned, “If an ordinary person breaks the rules and takes undue benefits, the law does not tolerate it. How can the Chief Minister, who is well-versed in all rules, laws, and regulations, behave in this manner?”

Joshi also referred to the High Court’s statement in the judgment that the “beneficiary is not unknown. The beneficiary of this scam is the petitioner’s (CM Siddaramaiah’s) wife.” This, Joshi said, clearly demonstrates undue influence and misuse of power by the Chief Minister.

“What more does the court need to say?” Joshi asked, pointing out that the High Court had upheld the Governor’s sanction for prosecution in the MUDA scam and prima facie indicated misuse of power.

Corruption is in Congress’s DNA:
Joshi remarked, “Corruption is in Congress’s DNA, and CM Siddaramaiah is no exception. He has misused his power, disregarding rules. In this context, Siddaramaiah should immediately resign.”

Joshi also took a jibe, reminding everyone of the comments made when BS Yediyurappa was the Chief Minister, and asked them to recall what was said at the time.

Apologize to the Governor:
Joshi demanded an apology from CM Siddaramaiah and Congress leaders for their disrespectful behavior towards the Governor. “During protests, Congress workers insulted the Governor by hitting his portrait with slippers. This is highly inappropriate behavior, especially towards a Dalit leader. Siddaramaiah should immediately apologize to the Governor,” Joshi insisted.

Rahul Gandhi should demand Siddaramaiah’s resignation:
Joshi challenged Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who often speaks of morality, to first ask Siddaramaiah to resign. “Siddaramaiah is unfit to hold the CM position even for a minute,” he concluded.
